Ira Blatstein

Dr. Blatstein provides extensive training on course topics that include strategic planning, change management and leadership for both private and public organizations.

Dr. Blatstein is currently a full time Assistant Professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Education, Department of Public Safety Leadership. In this position,
Dr. Blatstein teaches leadership and management-based courses and provides consulting services on strategic planning for national security issues.

Prior to joining Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Blatstein engaged in numerous senior executive assignments at the Naval Service Warfare Center, including Head of the Engineering Department, Deputy Technical Director and Head of the Research and Technology Department. Dr. Blatstein had the honor of being selected as the first Technical Director of NSWC when the Navy created the warfare center in 1992.

Dr. Blatstein began his career at the Naval Ordnance Laboratory (NOL) in White Oak, Maryland. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Physics from Catholic University of America, and his B.S. degree in Physics from Drexel University.
